I was told today that I was an amazing woman,
And great things lie ahead.
Trying to register that in my mind,
And keep repeating the words she said.

I am humble in my quest for happiness;
It’s the little things that count.
Trying to enjoy the simplicity of life,
Yet find peace in the profound.

Trying to keep my head forward,
And trying hard not to worry.
Trying to live this life one step at a time,
And not so much in a hurry.

The future is so undecided,
But truly I yearn for ease.
No longer trying to do the best for others,
But what’s really best for me.

I am blessed in my conquest,
Surrounded by people who honestly care.
Not the ones who have left me behind,
But the ones who’ve always been there.

I am finally starting to believe,
My life is worth a damn.
Because through all the clutter and all the chaos,
I will remain truly devoted, to who I am.
